Class Descriptions

Rose of Sharon Applique Quilt

If you have ever been overwhelmed by an appliqué project or have always wanted to try but were not quite sure about the handwork—then this class is for you. Enjoy beautiful, instant success in appliqué that will look hand done!
This class will highlight a wonderful, new machine appliqué technique. In this class you will create a beautiful 18" block.
You will be so hooked on this technique you will want to create enough for a whole quilt!

Supplies List:

Basic sewing kit*
1 1/4 yard good muslin( this is enough for four blocks) or light colored cotton for background.
Selection of small pieces (fat quarters work well) of assorted fabrics for applique. The sample we will work on will be a floral motif; so choose colors for the main flower, stems, leaves, etc.
Small travel iron if you own one (there will be some irons to share).
Small ironing surface; you will want one close to your machine (there will be a few to share).
Marking pencil or pen (air or water-soluble works great).
Stapler and staple remover

Pinwheel Spin

Try Quiltsmart Pinwheel Spin fusible interfacing for an easy approach to appliqué! You will be sewing a traditionally difficult quilt with ease. No curved piecing or needle turning!!
The kit contains enough interfacing for fifteen 10" blocks. This is a great class for beginners and seasoned sewers alike!
In this class you will create a beautiful 18" block. You will be so hooked on this technique you will want to create enough for a whole quilt!

Background fabric: 1 ½ yard
Pinwheel fabric: ¼ yd each of eight fabrics or 8 fat eighths
We will be working on blocks only so border fabrics can be purchased later.
